Prior to reading intervention, an hour consultation is necessary. If there is a current Psychoeducational Evaluation that addresses a Specific Learning Disability, this will need to be reviewed. If there are no current documents regarding a Specific Learning Disability - more extensive academic/cognitive testing may be recommended. It is crucial to know the student’s strengths and weaknesses and develop a baseline for their reading skills. Reading intervention should be scheduled a minimum of three days per week for 45 minute sessions.
